well....my contribution to this thread isn't something that i habitually turn to in order to stay in a HN state of mind....but this is one of the books i read that changed my outlook on life, relationships, people in general....already having independently studied Astrology, i was aware of the many facets of characters of individuals and i already had a sense that people, although the same in many ways, are unique beings.....they should be honored and at the very least, respected, for that...
on one of my "disappearing acts", which is where i pop into Borders Books and Music or Barnes & Noble and read for 3 hours (without anyone in my life knowing where i am - oh no!), i picked out a copy of Michael Newton's book
Destiny of Souls .......i was on a mission to find out why certain people have strong effects on you and others not so much, so i was looking for clues or answers.....the author is a past-life regressionist and like his first book
Journey of Souls, this sequel was a compilation of cases he's had in his office through the years, along with explanations of his findings in regards to "life in between lives".....it changed me, that book.....so much of what he said and described resonated deeply within me....of course! that can explain this, or that, or the other feeling/experience/situation i've had!!......i was also intrigued by what happens to people after death, and this gave me a bit of confirmation of what i had already felt all my life; that we don't die, we just transform.....and that we come back....and we come back to each other.....time and time again.....
he also touches on healing, and love as a regenerative tool, as described in the following quotes:
"Healing emotional and physical injury, both in and out of the spirit world, emanates from a source of goodness. Positive energy flows to every part of the soul`s being from the sender, whose own essence and wisdom is transmitted as well.
(...) the beauty and subtlety of this assimilation (...) resembles the flowing of rejuvenating electricity."
Michael Newton PH.D.
"Destiny of Souls" (page 87)
"The secret to healing is removing my conscious self so as to avoid inhibiting the free flow of energy between us.
My objective is to merge with the energy flow of the patient to bring out the highest good in that body. This is done with love as well as technique."
Michael Newton PH.D.
"Destiny of Souls (page 112)
so after reading some of the case studies, i began to have more compassion for the people in my life and around me, and in general....we're all on different levels of soul evolution at any given time....and some of us leave this incarnation not having reached the goals set before birth, and therefore have to re-evaluate during the period between leaving this body and inhabiting the next....according to Newton and apparently other regressionists, there's actually a "classroom" we go to to review our experiences and our days on Earth....somewhere where we discuss where our strengths and weaknesses were and how we can set ourselves up the next time to possibly have more success....we even choose our "roadmaps" ahead of time, and put plenty of forks in the road....when we get there, it is our Free Will to choose whichever one, so nothing's ever really "pre-destined".....but our souls want us to go in whichever direction is conducive to the overall accomplishments and goals we set for ourselves, spiritually...it is our personal tests to follow through
the way i see something like Hug Nation is that it's a group of souls who perhaps agreed on meeting up ahead of time and are now finding each other.....whether we affect one another positively or negatively, we're in each other's consciousness for reasons.....it's no mistake we all "just happened" to pay attention to one of the zillions of advertisements on a webpage and actually clicked on it!....that feeling that "something told me" to do it this time, in my opinion, was me telling myself to make a turn at that particular fork....
whether this is a long-term thing or not, doesn't matter......we touch each other in subtle ways sometimes and even for seconds at a time....someone's mere presence can change the course of someone's else's life.....had James Blunt never glimpsed an attractive stranger in the crowd, would he have still written "You're Beautiful"?.....maybe they agreed never to know each other but to be at that same place at the same time for that brief period, long enough for him to become that inspired to express himself in that way
anyhow, despite that i just got here not long ago, there are no tools i use or would need to maintain this frame of mind, only my spiritual convictions.....what attracted me to this wasn't your good looks, (alone

) it was the fact that YaY!! someone out there isn't afraid to let his freak flag fly and risk being viewed as crazy just because he wants to shower the world with love!!.....and the fact that that love doesn't necessarily have to be romantic or sexual love, or anything complicated.....it's more a love of humanity, as a whole, one person at a time.....and you're not doing it the way a lot of more famous humanitarians do it, by holding benefit concerts or something.....you're making yourself accessible while being active in trying to generate as much light and energy throughout the world as possible, utilizing this wonderful invention called The Internet....you are openly expressing a lot of my ideals, and i wish i could've done what you're doing....i'm glad someone is.....and you just happen to be someone i felt an instant kinship with, on a personal level, which makes coming back a very easy thing to do....my fellow Huggers and Huggettes also make returning easy, cuz so far i've met a lot of fun, cool people....
all that makes me want to help promote your cause and spread the word around as much as i can
